A lifelong curiosity for things with a past.
B&P takes its name from Gill and Mike's surnames when they first met more than 35 years ago. What began as a hobby has gradually become something of an obsession.
The beginning
How it began
B&P Antiques and Things is very much Gill's passion, with Mike firmly in the background — supportive of an interest that has grown steadily over the years from a hobby into something altogether more consuming.
From a young age, Gill has been fascinated by antiques, collectables and curios — not simply for what they are, but for the lives they may have lived and the stories they could tell.
There isn't a strict buying list. If something is unusual, interesting, beautiful or simply catches Gill's eye, it might find its way into the collection. That's what B&P is really about: discovering interesting things, learning something about them and finding someone else who will appreciate them.

What we look for
Things with a story
Every piece in the collection has been chosen because something about it stood out — its age, its craftsmanship, its oddness, or simply the feeling that it had been somewhere and seen something.
B&P isn't built around a particular period or category. The collection ranges widely, because curiosity doesn't keep to a brief. What ties everything together is that each piece felt worth stopping for.
When something leaves the collection and finds a new home, the hope is always the same: that whoever takes it on will find it just as interesting as we did.
